Half price Wednesdays

Stacey MacNaught |

The Society of London Theatre, the organisation which represents theatres in the British capital, has announced that it will renew its 'West End Wednesdays' promotion, which offers half price tickets to West End shows on Wednesdays. Initially launched in July and run by TKTS, Society of London Theatre’s ticket booth in Leicester Square, West End Wednesdays has returned for the month of November, beginning on 5 November.

This initiative will reopen opportunities for West End audiences to see popular productions at half price, enabling more and more people to engage with the West End theatre scene. There are already many schemes similar to West End Wednesdays, however they are often limited to specific age groups or particular shows - such as certain matinee performances, which means only a limited number of people are able to attend due to the such specific parameters.
Shows featured in the generous promotion include shows which have recently opened such as Speed-the-Plow at the Playhouse Theatre, East Is East at Trafalgar Studios, Neville’s Island at the Duke of York’s Theatre and Urinetown at the Apollo. The full list of shows includes Forbidden Broadway at the Vaudeville Theatre, The Commitments at the Palace Theatre, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Savoy Theatre, Ghost Stories at the Arts Theatre, Great Britain at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, The Play That Goes Wrong at the Duchess Theatre and The Woman in Black at the Fortune Theatre.

In a bid to open up the initiative to all available audiences, the half price tickets will be available on a first come first served basis, and will go on sale at 10am each Wednesday at the TKTS booth.
