A spectacular evening of dance at Sadler's Wells

Stacey MacNaught |

Major stars of ballet are to combine with other dazzling performers to present a unique programme of dance with 12 short and exciting pieces, including several premieres and new works alongside classics. The event is in aid of new charity Dance Again Foundation which enables dancers in the UK to access affordable specialist medical help, support and advice when they are injured so they can return to dance as quickly and safely as possible. The line-up includes Royal Ballet Principal Edward Watson performing Arthur Pita’s Spiderman; Northern Ballet with a world premiere of Forbidden Fruit by critically acclaimed dancer and choreographer Kenneth Tindall; Ballet Black with the comedic duet from Arthur Pita’s A Dream Within A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Birmingham Royal Ballet with an excerpt from David Bintley’s Flowers of the Forest alongside the dramatic pas de deux from Esmeralda by English National Ballet’s electrifying new talent and joint winners of the Emerging Dancer competition this year, Alison McWhinney and Junor Souza; and former Principal of ENB Yat-Sen Chang with Emma Lucibello in a piece from Don Quixote. In addition, rugby player Gavin Henson will be reprising his Strictly Come Dancing waltz with Michelle Webber of Dance Factory Bristol; Tap Attack’s world champion team Extreme Tap will perform their winning routine; Scott Miller’s Tappers, featuring world champion Matt Hill's After Midnight; ZooNation Youth with a piece from Groove On Down The Road; international smash hit Stomp presenting two contrasting pieces from their repertoire; Richard Alston Dance Company reworking the classic Overdrive and finally, Jack Widdowson in new piece Morsel. Dance Again aims to raise £50,000 to fund a specialist physiotherapist to work alongside the NHS clinic opening in Bath in Autumn 2014, in addition to raising funds to cover costs as the charity expands and increases its range of information, frontline services and back line support.
