The Rocky Horror Show returns for UK tour

The cult classic The Rocky Horror Show is embarking on an extensive 2016 tour across the country, beginning in December this year at Theatre Royal Brighton. The return of this iconic musical show, following its 2013 UK tour, will be met with delight from fans, with tickets for the tour going on sale exclusively to fans of the show on 20 March.
Roxanne Pallett, Ben Forster and Oliver Thornton starred in the 2013 UK tour of The Rocky Horror Show, however casting for the 2016 tour production is yet to be announced. Richard O'Brien's cult classic musical tells the story of straight and narrow college students Brad and Janet, who stumble upon Dr Frank'n'Furter's house when their car breaks down. The show features songs including "Time Warp" and "Dammit Janet", and is a classic in terms of musical theatre and popular culture.

The news of the tour comes shortly after the announcement of the Rocky Horror sequel - Shock Treatment - at the King's Head Theatre, which opens in April 2015. With more dates yet to be announced, the 2016 tour of The Rocky Horror Show will run at Theatre Royal Brighton (17 December 2015-2 January 2016), Manchester Opera House (5-16 January), New Alexandra Theatre Birmingham (25-30 January), Liverpool Empire (1-6 February), Sunderland Empire (15-20 February), New Wimbledon Theatre (29 February-5 March) and the Princess Theatre Torquay (7-12 March).
With a tour of a classic musical theatre show it is hoped that the tour will transform into a stint in the West End. Indeed Chichester Festival Theatre tends to have this effect on its productions, so it is likely many Rocky Horror fans are hoping for the same effect on the touring show.
