Watch The Nutcracker live at an Odeon near you this Christmas
Recently, we offered one lucky winner the opportunity to win tickets to see the English National Ballet perform The Nutcracker at the London Coliseum and stay at the sumptuous Bloomsbury Hotel nearby.
Unfortunately, there could only be one winner, so for those of you who missed out, here’s your chance to make Christmas extra special this year by treating yourself to tickets to see Odeon’s live screening of the Royal Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’.
The Royal Ballet’s magical performance, created by Peter Wright in 1984, has enchanted audiences the world over, and this Christmas, it’s coming to a cinema near you.
Join Clara on Christmas Eve as she is carried away on a fairytale escapade with Drosselmeyer the magician. As her home is transformed into a battleground, her journey takes her to a snowy pine forest and through to the Kingdom of Sweets.
Dance fans of all ages will be bewitched by the pas de deux between the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince, the Waltz of the Snowflakes and Waltz of the Flowers.
The enchanting score by Tchaikovsky, the sumptuous set design and the spellbinding dancing all combine to make this the definitive Christmas ballet to see with children and adults.
Dancers appearing in the show include Lauren Cuthbertson, Federico Bonelli, Darcey Bussell, Francesca Hayward and Alexander Campbell.
The performance takes place at 7:15pm on Thursday 8th December and lasts 180 minutes. Tickets are available online and at Odeon cinemas across the country.
A review from The Stage called this production “fresh and invigorated”, noting that there “are grace notes that sharpen character and invite speculation on what lies beneath the glittering surface of the greatest Christmas ballet ever realised.”
